Behenyl Behenate- (lip butter, balm, lip scrub)
Our Behenyl Behenate is an organic 100% vegetable derived wax-like fatty acid and fatty alcohol harvested from rapeseed oil. Behenic acid is considered bio-compatible with skin as it is one of the fatty acids that occurs naturally in human sebum (oil). Behenic acid is also one of the main beneficial saturated fatty acids found in fish oil. We use it in combination with other plant-based waxes and esters to replace beeswax in our formulas. It hydrates skin, imparts richness, builds viscosity, and also adds occlusive properties which help to prevent transepidermal water loss. EWG Score- 1
